About the speaker:

Dr. David Masopust is a McKnight Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Minnesota Medical School and a Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher. His research focuses on T cell immune surveillance, migration, and memory, including pioneering work on tissue-resident memory T cells and their role in immunity and immunotherapy. He has developed innovative techniques for studying T cells in nonlymphoid tissues and vaccine strategies aimed at enhancing memory T cell populations. Dr. Masopust completed his Ph.D. training under Leo Lefrancois at the University of Connecticut Health Center and conducted postdoctoral research with Rafi Ahmed at Emory University. His work is supported by major funding agencies and foundations and continues to advance understanding of T cell biology and its applications in disease prevention and treatment.
