As Aristotle so rightfully put it: ‘Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.’ The same can be said about the pursuit of scientific excellence at CeMM – it is not an act but a habit. Of course the perception of Austria in the world is very strongly shaped by the Arts and its cultural heritage. Nevertheless to secure the future and prosperity of any society the Arts and Sciences must complement each other. If that is fulfilled on the highest level great goals can be achieved.
