On the evening of the Vienna Science Ball 2026, Vienna City Hall once again became a meeting place for science, tradition, and community. From the ceremonial opening to the lively dance floors spread across the historic halls, the programme combined the elegance of the Viennese ball season with a playful celebration of scientific curiosity.

Against this vibrant backdrop, CeMM alumnae and alumni came together in a welcoming and celebratory atmosphere. Early conversations over a glass of sparkling wine quickly turned into animated reunions, while new connections formed just as naturally. In line with the core values of the alumnae/i network - to connect, inspire, and empower - the evening underscored the importance of maintaining strong and lasting ties between CeMM and its alumnae/i community. A special highlight for many was the opportunity to meet CeMM’s new Scientific Director, Maria Rescigno, and exchange perspectives in an informal and festive setting.

Many alumnae and alumni took the opportunity to network and reconnect with former colleagues and friends. Throughout the evening, a strong sense of belonging to the close-knit and valued CeMM community - regardless of where individual professional paths have since led - was clearly felt. Overall, the Vienna Science Ball 2026 was not only a celebration of science and tradition, but a genuine homecoming for CeMM alumnae and alumni.

Great people, great conversations, and dancing until morning! The Vienna Science Ball brought us together for science talk, life updates, and plenty of fun along the way.
