Maria Rescigno appointed to ERC Identification Committee

We congratulate our Scientific Director Maria Rescigno for beeing appointed by the European Commission to the high-level Identification Committee responsible for selecting future members of the European Research Council (ERC) Scientific Council!
The six-member committee, composed of leading European scientists, will oversee the renewal process of the ERC Scientific Council as part of the preparations for Horizon Europe 2028–2034, the European Union’s upcoming framework programme for research and innovation.
The ERC Scientific Council is the independent governing body of the ERC and defines the organization’s scientific funding strategy and methodologies. Its members are appointed by the European Commission following recommendations from the Identification Committee through an independent and transparent process involving consultation with the scientific community.
The newly appointed Identification Committee is chaired by Martin Vetterli (EPFL, Switzerland) and includes Paula Eerola (Research Council of Finland), Heino Falcke (Radboud University Nijmegen), Katerina Harvati (University of Tübingen), Andres Metspalu (University of Tartu), and Maria Rescigno.
The appointment highlights both Maria Rescigno’s standing within the European scientific community and CeMM’s strong engagement in shaping the future of frontier research in Europe. CeMM warmly congratulates Maria Rescigno on this important appointment and wishes her and the committee every success in in this important responsibility for European research.
