In accordance with Austrian law, CeMM employees receive 25 days of annual leave per year, plus a generous number of public holidays. All scientific staff are paid according to the salary scale of the Austrian Science Fund and all employees receive statutory health insurance which provides free medical treatment by physicians and hospitals in the event of illness and subsidised prescription fees. Partners and children can be co-insured.

All new employees who move to Vienna from abroad receive a relocation allowance and can apply for up to six months of subsidized accommodation. This includes larger apartments to accommodate couples and families. Vienna offers many kindergartens and schools, most of which are either free or are subsidised. To help new employees settle into a new city and country, CeMM also offers free German classes on site, at different levels, with professional language trainers.
