On 12 June 2023, the REsolution consortium held its fourth and final consortium meeting. The event took place at CeMM with 20 participants coming from different countries and 5 participants joining virtually. The REsolution consortium is a public-private research partnership supported by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), EU and EFPIA with 9 partners from academia and the pharmaceutical industry. The project has a duration of 2 years and aims to understand how genetic variants in humans affect the function of cellular solute carrier transporters (SLCs).

During the meeting, REsolution scientists summarized the data generated on the collection and annotation of human genetic variants for SLCs and their associated phenotypes. They also finalized the strategy to publish the results from the characterization of single variants, SLC family-wide studies, as well as the deep mutational scanning experiments on several SLCs involved in human diseases. Finally, they organized a data release workshop to prepare the open-access release of the project results through their web portal (http://re-solute.eu/resolution).

All these project results will be presented at the public conference: “Unlocking Transporters for Drug Discovery”, which will take place in Vienna from 27 – 29 September 2023. Register at https://re-solute.eu/conference to join this important event for the scientific and medical communities.

We would like to thank all participants for their attendance and especially the speakers for their excellent presentations.
