We thank our Scientific Advisory Board members Carl-Henrik Heldin (SAB Chair), Emmanuelle Charpentier, Aaron Ciechanover, Janet Kelso, Hidde Ploegh and Derek Tan for their precious time, fruitful discussions and valuable feedback. Academy President Heinz Faßmann met the SAB to receive feedback and recommendations and we appreciate that he expressed encouraging words to CeMM Faculty.

CeMM’s international Scientific Advisory Board members visit the institute every 18 months, to provide feedback on ongoing projects to discuss future research plans with CeMM Faculty, PostDocs and PhD students and to provide CeMM Management with recommendations on strategy, recruitment, contract extensions as well as technology transfer and commercialization opportunities.

The SAB Meeting Program was filled with 44 talks of the CeMM Directors, Faculty members, PostDocs, PhD Students, a poster session with our 1^st year PhD Students, and a lot of 1:1 meetings and group discussions with scientific, technical and administrative personnel took place.

For CeMM, the Scientific Advisory Board is a valuable source for feedback on scientific and strategic questions. Receiving constructive and positive feedback from these highly renowned and established scientists helps considerably to improve our research endeavors, and it provides the necessary motivation necessary to set and reach ambitious goals.

We also thank our collaborators, strategic partners and stakeholders who took part in an inspiring art gallery tour and SAB Dinner event at Stadtpalais Liechtenstein on Tuesday evening.
