VRNetzer: A Virtual Reality Network Analysis Platform

Networks offer a powerful way to visualize and analyze complex systems. However, depending on the size and complexity of the network, many visualizations are limited. Protein interactions in the human body constitute such a complex system that can hardly be visualized.
The VRNetzer is a project collaboration between Cemm Adjunct PI Jörg Menche's group and other medical groups, such as Kaan Boztug's, CeMM Adjunct PI, Professor at the University Bonn and former Scientific Director of CCRI in Vienna. The immersive virtual reality platform including VR glasses allows the user to dive deep into the massive molecular networks behind genetic diseases.
A specifically developed device including VR glasses allows the user to dive deep into the massive molecular networks behind genetic diseases. The unique VR experience provides a first glimpse on how humans and machines will interact in the future to visualize and explore complex medical data to the benefit of research and patients.
