Personally, I have been following CeMM’s journey and development from its very beginning – CeMM being IMBA’s “sister institute” within the Austrian Academy of Sciences, both close collaborations and, in the best way, friendly rivalry connect our two institutes. Many joint projects bring scientists from both institutes and our complementary research approaches together to investigate critical questions. Jointly, we push the boundaries of our knowledge of life. Beyond research, CeMM and IMBA also join forces in training the next generation of scientists, such as through our international summer school for life science undergraduates. The energy, curiosity, and innovation that CeMM brings to the Vienna life science community are truly irreplaceable.”
